Job Summary:Firestone Walker Brewing Company is looking to hire a part-time Beer Educator for the on-site Visitor's Center (VC) located at the Paso Robles facility. The VC operates a tasting room atmosphere that is both fun and educational. The Beer Educator is responsible for providing tours of our brewery, giving guests a special glimpse into the production and history of Firestone Walker. The Beer Educator must be friendly, easy going, enthusiastic and confident in their ability to teach the public about the craft beer industry. They possess an understanding of the brewing process, an ability to relay information to guests, and have fun while doing it. This position involves promoting Firestone Walker's beer by being welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate. The ideal candidate will provide amazing customer service in this educational environment. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:Create a fun, high-energy environment where patrons can learn about FWBC, our beers and general beer productionProvide an engaging and inviting environment for guests to learn and tasteUnderstand basic draft use and maintenance, as well as proper beer service standardsAssist with tour scheduling and communications, and provide tours of the brewery showcasing our history and brewing process to guestsBecome an informed resource for our guests on all core products and answer questions on new beers as releasedGreet each customer as they enter the Visitor's Center Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks efficientlyUse of Micros POS for all sales transactions or any future POS SystemsProcess orders and guest paymentsReconcile the cash/credit drawer at the end of the dayComplete opening and closing tasks efficientlyStock and replenish items including but not limited to beer, glassware, and merchComfortable moving and tapping kegs as neededOther duties as assigned QualificationsRequired Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent and prior customer service experience or experience pouring alcohol in a tasting room settingCurrent California Responsible Beverage Service certification required before beginning work Strong organizational skills and the ability to start and finish projects in an efficient manner Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing Self-motivated and goal orientedA friendly and outgoing disposition with a thirst for knowledge and desire to learn about beer and educate consumers Ability to work alone or as part of a teamComfortable speaking in front of people and large groups for toursMust be able to lift 40lbs regularly and be able to maneuver kegs with assistance Must be able to multitask, work in high energy environment and maintain order during busy daysMust be available to work weekends and holidaysAbility to operate and use a PC computer, familiar with a point-of-sale systemAbility to pass Beer Server Certified test by CiceroneMust be at least 21 years old What Firestone Walker Offers: $18/hr, plus tips!
