Job Description
The Manager, Training & Development role is responsible for the successful coordination, implementation and harmonization of new processes, tasks and technology/database roll outs in Esoteric Specimen Management, across multiple sites.
- Work with the NLO & ETLO teams in developing a training program to better standardize and align with the regions.
- In collaboration with local QA and MOQ, maintain regulatory and compliance requirements for governing bodies.
- Provide continuous coaching and development of our trainers, who are the first impression for our new hires.
- Develop people and QA metrics to track success of training program and trainers (leading and lagging metrics).
- Implement a formal feedback tool to get feedback from our trainees about our trainers, which can then be tied back to performance reviews.
- Support the professional learning & development of trainers to include facilitation, instructional design, development, delivery, and project management skills.
- Successful project management and training for EBU Specimen Management system conversions.
- Provide on-site business unit support throughout system conversion.
- Facilitate resolution of problems, which arise during the training, Parallel Testing and system conversion.
- Advise departmental and site leadershipon opportunities for replicating best practices where gaps are observed.
- Partner with QMS, Managers and Supervisors to proactively identify scenarios impacting quality and address through learning and development solutions.
- Provide guidance to managers, supervisors and employees on development plans, including access to resources to support development.
- Develop contemporary learning channels for virtual, just in time, and knowledge management systems.
- Develop and follow comprehensive project plans:
- Establish goals, accountabilities, action steps, milestones and timelines for Learning & Development Projects.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities from start-to-finish to achieve project goals, and
- Prepare and submit project updates and, as needed, recovery plans.
- Develop and implement Specimen Management Learning & Development Roadmaps
- Partner with internal/external communities of practice to identify opportunities to leverage existing/emerging technologies at low to no-cost.
- Conduct on-going research into best practices in Learning/Training technologies and identify opportunities to increase utilization of training.
- Research best-practices in learning/training to recommend/implement efficiencies, including on-going development and up-skilling of Training team.
- Build and maintain Learning Dashboard and Metrics
- Dashboard to provide visibility to upcoming changes/training and provide on-going communication to Managers, Supervisors.
- Metrics to drive utilization and improvements.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Work Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of laboratory experience
- At least 4 years of direct supervisory experience in a clinical or anatomical pathology laboratory
- Familiarity and experience with Project Management approaches, tools and project lifecycles
- Experience driving technology solutions to increase efficiency and reduce cycle times/time to productivity

Bachelor's Degree
High School Diploma or Equivalent(Required)
