Position Overview: The Technical Designer, Event and Production will play a crucial role in translating creative concepts into detailed, practical designs for a variety of high-profile events and productions. This role requires 3-5+ years of experience in event and production design, proficiency with CAD tools, and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing for luxury clients and a passion for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development:
  • Create detailed technical drawings and design documents for sets, displays, pop-ups, retail fixtures, props, and other production elements.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop and refine design concepts, ensuring they meet client specifications and project requirements.
  • Utilize CAD tools (e.g., Rhino, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp) to produce accurate and comprehensive design plans.
  • Technical and Practical Solutions:
  • Develop technical solutions to address design challenges and ensure feasibility of production.
  • Provide specifications and guidelines for materials, construction methods, and installation processes.
  • Work closely with fabrication and installation teams to ensure designs are executed accurately and efficiently.
  • Client and Project Support:
  • Assist in translating client visions into practical design solutions, maintaining a focus on luxury and high-quality standards.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed to communicate design concepts and technical details.
  • Address client feedback and make necessary adjustments to designs to ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Coordinate with other designers, project managers, and production staff to ensure cohesive and integrated design solutions.
  • Manage design changes and updates, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and adjustments.
  • Ensure all designs comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Quality Control and Documentation:
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and detail in all design work.
  • Prepare and organize design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and notes.
  • Conduct design reviews and quality checks to ensure the final output aligns with the initial concept and client expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in event and production design, with a focus on luxury clients and high-profile projects.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Rhino, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp).
  • Strong technical drawing and design skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
