We are inviting applications for the role of Tax Staff - Public in our organization based in Smithfield, Virginia. The selected candidate will be part of our team, handling tax accounting tasks. The role demands expertise in tax calculation and filing, handling individual tax return, corporate/S Corp, and Fiduciary tasks.

Responsibilities:
• Utilize accounting skills and knowledge in tax preparation and compliance tasks.
• Use Lacert, QuickBooks, Sage, and other relevant software for efficient tax filing.
• Prepare and file individual tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the law.
• Handle corporate/S Corp tax responsibilities, ensuring all tax obligations are met on time.
• Manage Fiduciary tax responsibilities, adhering to all legal and company guidelines.
• Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Interface with clients, providing excellent customer service and addressing their queries and concerns.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure all accounting functions are performed efficiently.
• Stay updated with the latest changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Utilize excellent communication skills for effective client interaction.• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of tax services in a public setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a requirement.
• Demonstrable knowledge of standard accounting functions.
• Compliance with tax regulations and standards is necessary.
• Exceptional customer service skills are a must.
• Experience in tax preparation is expected.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks software is required.
• Familiarity with Sage Accounting Software is a plus.
• The ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or EA certification is preferred.
• Proven track record of successfully handling audits.
• Must be a team player with the ability to work independently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrable ability to stay up to date with current tax laws and regulations.
