Job Summary

Join our Program Management Team as a Ship Superintendent. This role involves overseeing ship repair maintenance projects, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently within budget and timelines. Collaborate closely with project managers, crafts, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality results. • Manage a portion of ship repair maintenance packages that may include installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• Functionally reports to the Project Manager and ensures that assigned work is completed on time and within an established budget.
• Often works with the various crafts (blast/paint, mechanical, etc.) to discuss and coordinate production work. 
• Must also have a through understanding of shipboard systems and excellent communication skills to coordinate and work with Subcontractors.

Skills Required

• A minimum 7+ years of experience is common for this career superintendent position.
• A SS-III will be highly knowledgeable aboard a ship and very comfortable interfacing with production trades, customers, and the government.
• Experience in trades is beneficial.
• Understanding of complex work specifications is required.
• Experience and capability of assisting with contract negotiations is highly desirable.
• Experience with scheduling is also highly desirable
• Must have the ability to assess production progress and discuss production challenges with the Project Management Team and Production teams.
• Interacting with other shipyard departments including the customer (Government) is a common.
• Must have the ability to plan and coordinate work to deconflict and develop efficient workflows aboard ships during a repair availability.

Education/Training/Certifications

• A bachelor’s degree is highly desired or equivalent shipyard experience.
