We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Sheet Metal Prefabrication Apprentice.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn and develop skills in the sheet metal industry through hands-on training and formal education. The apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to fabricate and assemble sheet metal components for various applications.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components including spiral, square, and rectangular ductwork.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
• Work with various material types and gauges, including galvanized and stainless steel.
• Cut in taps and apply duct sealant as necessary.
• Work with multiple trades within the shop to install ductwork on multi-trade assemblies.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and work independently to meet project deadlines.
• Follow all safety protocols and always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Responsible for tracking and logging time per task.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Adapt to changing work environments and tasks as directed by supervisors.
• Operate machinery and hand tools under supervision to cut, shape and assemble sheet metal.
• Attend apprenticeship classes and training sessions to further develop skills and knowledge in sheet metal fabrication.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the trade or industry.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Able to work full-time (40 hours per week) on a consistent basis.
• Ability to wear and adhere to appropriate PPE requirements.
• Open-minded and eager to learn and grow in the sheet metal fabrication trade.
• Willing to participate in apprenticeship classes if accepted into the program.
• Basic understanding of mechanical principles is a plus.
• Previous experience in sheet metal work or a related field is beneficial but not required.
