TITLE: Administrative Secretary (High School)


REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOAL: To complete the detail and written work required by the position; to coordinate


other matters essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: N/A

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists the Principal in screening telephone calls and visitors and recording messages, etc.
• Assists the Principal and persons assigned to him/her.
• Attends meetings and types notes from meetings per request.
• Collaborates with other secretaries to ensure the receptionist area is covered.
• Assists all other administrative staff, teachers and non-certified staff as directed.
• Sort mail for the school.
• Type correspondence and reports for the principal.
• Assist in the use of office copiers as needed; file.
• Type letters and notices to parents/guardians and staff for the school
• Take telephone calls, relay messages to the principal, students and staff. Stamp and prepare mail for the post office.
• Process approved purchase orders and verifies invoices.
• Assist the principal in public relations work in which he/she is involved.
• Manage and process payroll, attendance, etc.
• Other duties as identified

QUALIFICATIONS:


High School diploma; prior secretarial experience; technology skills..
