Field Service Power Generation Technician Level II

Hours:

• Monday to Friday | 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• No weekends, but on-call rotation once a month for about a week.
• Opportunity for overtime.

As a Field Service Power Generation Technician Level II, you will be responsible for the following:

• Completing preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction.
• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Utilizing specialized tools and following documented procedures to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
• Completing service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims through business systems or handwritten forms.
• Completing training in line with skill and business requirements.
• Adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, and reporting any issues/incidents to the supervisor.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience with direct diesel engine work (only industrial experience – not residential generators).
• Experience with large-scale generators (4kw-2000, with some 2500 models).
• Experience with both the engine and electrical components of the generator is essential.
• New Unit Installs and Commissioning of switchgear and paralleling is highly desirable.
• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance experience.
• High Voltage/Low Voltage experience .
• Ability to complete electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform intermediate-level maintenance and repair with some complex diagnostics.

Technician Level II:

• Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in scope for a diesel technician at this location.
• Primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair, with some exposure to complex diagnostics.
• Requires limited direct supervision and may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.

Technician Level III:

• Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all products in scope.
• Frequently engaged in complex diagnostics and repairs.
• Requires minimal to no supervision and has the ability to train and guide less experienced technicians.

Education, Certifications & Licensing:

• Apprentice Certified Power Generation/Electrical Technician (Preferred).
• Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
• Current relevant electrical certification .
• Locally valid driving permit .
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Additional Requirements:

• The candidate must be at least 21 years old .
• A current valid driver’s license is required.
• 5-year motor vehicle report free of major violations.
• Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical .
• This role is subject to DOT driving regulations , including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
• 3 years of driving experience required.
• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

The successful candidate will undergo a Pre-Employment Background Screening that includes a Criminal Background Check, as well as Education and Work Experience Verification .

This position also requires the candidate to pass a Med-Card check and provide a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driving report .
