Work Schedule: - 2nd Shift: 3:00pm to 11:30pm
- 3rd Shift: 8:00pm to 8:30am
- Part-time hours, 56/hrs per pay period
Pay: - Based on years of experience, typically between $15-18/hr
Job Summary: Medix is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Patient Registration team as a Part-Time Patient Access Representative for the 2nd and 3rd shifts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process for patients, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate records during these shifts. Mobility to perform bedside check-ins is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities: - Patient Check-In:
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Accurately collect and verify patient information, including personal, medical, and insurance details.
- Complete registration forms and input data into the hospital's electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Perform bedside check-ins for patients who are unable to visit the registration desk, ensuring all necessary documentation and data entry are completed accurately.
- Customer Service:
- Provide clear information regarding hospital policies, procedures, and services.
- Address patient inquiries and concerns, directing them to the appropriate department or staff member when necessary.
- Administrative Support:
- Ensure all required documentation is completed and properly filed.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with the coordination of patient flow to reduce wait times.
- Shift-Specific Duties:
- Perform additional administrative tasks as required during off-peak hours.
- Collaborate with night shift medical staff to support patient care needs.
Qualifications: - Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college coursework in healthcare administration or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical terminology is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer operations.
- Other Requirements:
- Mobility to perform bedside check-ins and navigate throughout the hospital.
- Ability to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
