Job Description The primary function of this position is to provide leadership to the team whose roles are developing new products. Individual must be highly collaborative, well organized, driven with a bright eager positive attitude with a high degree of technical curiosity. Can work on any type of projects independently.
- Identify second source suppliers. Evaluate and approval alternate raw materials.
- Responsible for managing approved projects. Review all Research Proposals, Field Trial Proposals, and Product Releases on projects assigned to the group. Coordinate Technical Field Trials with Marketing, Operations and Technical Services group.
- Responsible for ensuring that DOE and other statistical tools are used to understand and interpret the test results.
- Review and approve all travel expenses and purchase orders from subordinates.
- Monitor and control all RPAs in functional area. Recommend capital expenditure.
- Participate in long-term product planning activities.
- Run Expert Team in functional area.
- Perform Employee Performance Appraisals, Personal Growth Plan for all subordinates.
- Review and approve all technical reports written by subordinates before issuing to others. Publish progress reports, trip reports and monthlies on approved projects.
- Responsible for creating a safe, tidy and harassment free work environment.
- Provide support to TS 16949, PCP and PSP processes.
- Perform special projects and other assignments as required.
Qualifications - Advanced degree in General Sciences.
- 10+ years hands-on experience in thermoplastics, thermosets in Automotive OEM Market, including formulation, product scale-up and commercialization.
- 5+ years' experience in supervision.
- Excellent oral communication, technical presentation and technical writing skill.
- Excellent knowledge in Design of Experiment, Design FMEA, and other quality programs.
