Job Description
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in the plant. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks, ensuring that work areas are free from debris and hazards. The janitor will assist in the overall organization and tidiness of the plant, supporting the department in maintaining productivity and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas.
• Sweeping, mopping, dusting
• Wiping down and sanitizing surfaces
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Clean, sanitize, and stock bathrooms
• Organize deck storage areas, tools, and materials.
• Maintain outdoor grounds by removing unwanted debris
• Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Follow safety procedures and comply with policies
• Notify the Supervisor of unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to manage your time efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Works well with others.
• Works well when supervisors are not present.
• Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
• Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments.
• Ability to follow directions from Supervisor.
• Proficient in computers is preferred.
• Bi-lingual is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Regularly required to stand, twist, and walk; use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance on elevated surfaces; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• This position requires constant medium to heavy manual labor.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe boots (must be laced and over the ankle), hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
WORKING CONDITIONS: • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Work environment is both indoor and outdoor, with exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
