The Hispanic and Immigrant Center of Alabama, ¡HICA!, is one of the most successful social impact organizations in Alabama and has been the major catalyst for the empowerment and economic progress of the Latino community for over 20 years. ¡HICA! is a non-profit organization with a successful track record of providing over 3,000 residents annually with quality services while advocating to local and state leaders for policies that improve the quality of life of all residents.

We are seeking an experienced Information Processing Specialist with strong technical skills and a keen eye for detail. This role involves operating and maintaining information processing equipment, managing data entry and retrieval, and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of information systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing complex data processing tasks, troubleshooting system issues, and collaborating with various departments to support organizational objectives. You should be highly organized, proactive, and capable of working under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Entry and Management: Input, update, and maintain data in computer systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.​
• System Operation: Operate information processing equipment, such as computers and peripheral devices, following programmed instructions.​
• Information Retrieval: Access and retrieve information from databases or file systems to support organizational needs.​
• Data Analysis: Review and analyze data to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement.​
• Reporting: Generate reports based on processed information to assist management in decision-making.​
• Collaboration: Work with other staff members to ensure that information processing activities align with organizational goals.​
• System Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting information processing systems to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements

• Educational Background: Typically, a high school diploma or equivalent is required; however, some positions may prefer postsecondary education in information technology or related fields.​
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating computer systems and familiarity with various software applications, such as word processors, spreadsheets, and database management systems.​
• Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately input and review data, ensuring high levels of precision.​
• Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze data and identify patterns or issues.​
• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and other departments.​
• Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.​
• Experience: Previous experience in data entry, administrative support, or information management is often preferred.
