Internship Summary: The 2024 Summer Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for providing graphic support for the Marketing Department to drive awareness to further the mission of the CAC. The Graphic Design Intern will report to the Graphic Designer and collaborate with multiple departments to build out a creative approach to initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work demonstrating their passion for design. Experiential Learning and Training: Develop and maintain a knowledge of CAC branding. Assist in designing a wide array of visual communications, including image editing, social graphics, internal documents/presentations, flyers, and more. Develop innovative concepts and design directions, and present work clearly and effectively to internal staff, with a willingness to continue exploring conceptual options. Work with various departments throughout the organization to provide graphic support for projects as requested, while helping to manage project timeline, completion, and final delivery. Research and stay current with trends and developments in design and social media. Work with external vendors to spec projects, evaluate printing estimates, make recommendations, and set up files for print according to vendor requirements. Requirements Qualifications : Currently enrolled in a college-level Graphic Design or Visual Communications program that allows for course credit through internship work. A portfolio that features design across multiple channels (digital, print, social, etc). Knowledge, Skills & Ability: Graphic design and production skills, experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat). Willingness to follow established policies, procedures, and brand guidelines. Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects within time constraints. Creative, proactive, and able to work well with others. An interest in learning about architecture. Schedule : This internship is for summer 2024, at 8 hours per week for 6-8 weeks This is an on-site internship based out of the Chicago Architecture Center at 111 E Wacker Drive, Suite 1300.
