Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Federal Government Contract Specialist (Independent Contractor/1009) looking for additional part-time income. This role is tailored for individuals with deep expertise in crafting and managing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for federal government contracts. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the federal procurement process and demonstrate proficiency in leveraging tools like SAM.GOV, FPDS.GOV and USASPENDING.GOV; a familiarity with SBA PRC's (Procurement Center Representative), all in an effort to secure and manage government contracts efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate federal contract opportunities through various procurement channels.
• Lead the development and submission of RFPs, RFI's, etc. for federal government contracts (prime & sub contracting).
• Identify contracts competing contractors and subcontractors in the space are showing an interest in bidding on
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal procurement regulations and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with contract specifications and deliverables.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key federal procurement officials, agencies and prime contractors.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in federal government contract management, set-asides and RFP, RFI, BPA development
• Experience working with SBA PRC's (Procurement Center Representative)
• Experience working with prime contractors
• Experience utilizing resources such as SAM.GOV; FPDS.GOV; USASPENDING.GOV; GSA eBuy system; etc. to streamline the contract acquisition process.
• Proven track record of successfully acquiring federal government contracts.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, or a related field preferred.

Targeted Metrics:

• Number of Contracts Identified : Aim for identifying 5-10 potential contracts per week.
• Quality of Contracts : At least 80% of identified contracts should be relevant and align with the firm's capabilities and objectives.
• Success Rate : A target success rate of 20-30% of identified and relevant contracts leading to successful bids.
• Time Efficiency : The contractor should provide a list of potential contracts within 2-3 business days from the start of the search.
• Research Thoroughness : Each contract should be researched to a level where a clear understanding of requirements, key competitors, and potential partners is achieved, spending an average of 2-3 hours per contract.
• Client Satisfaction : Aim for a satisfaction score of 8 out of 10 or higher from the firm regarding communication and relevance of opportunities.
• Adaptability and Improvement : The contractor should show measurable improvements in at least two metrics (such as success rate or time efficiency) every month, demonstrating adaptability to feedback and market changes.
