Clayton Services is searching for an Equipment Design Engineer to join a thriving company in North Houston. The Equipment Design Engineer will be responsible for developing new electrical systems for industrial equipment. The Equipment Design Engineer will be responsible for developing system specifications and layouts.

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $40.00/hour

Equipment Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• Performing engineering calculations for psychrometrics, refrigeration, hydronics, and structural systems.
• Designing innovative HVACR equipment by developing 3D models of complete units using SOLIDWORKS.
• ​Creating detailed electrical and piping schematics with AutoCAD.
• Preparing comprehensive submittal packages for new equipment.
• Selecting components and conducting cost analyses for new equipment.
• Reviewing and balancing HVACR unit performance by selecting and evaluating compressors, pumps and blowers.
• Rating heat exchanges and cross-referencing performance data to achieve optinal unit balance.
• Testing and troubleshooting new designs to ensure electrical functionality, performance, and quality.
• Collaborating with the manufacturing team to provide engineering support throughout the build process.
• Programming various control systems, including PLCs and VFDs.
• Keeping meticulous records of all completed work and ensuring proper storage on the public drive.​

Equipment Design Engineer Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering required.
• 2+ years of experience with SOLIDWORKS and AUTOCAD knowledge is required.
