Job Details The EMR Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and evaluating systems and procedures to ensure staff access to hospital-based electronic health records (EMRs). This role involves collaborating with hospitals and internal teams to ensure access, integrity, and security for the donation process. The EMR Manager must communicate access plans effectively to both internal and external stakeholders and possess strong interpersonal, strategic, and communication skills. The role requires the ability to negotiate contracts and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain remote and onsite EMR access privileges.
- Onboard new staff, ensuring proper EMR access, training, and privacy compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date records of staff access rights and provide regular reports.
- Assist with reapplying for access privileges and handle staff termination notifications.
- Monitor support desk and address EMR access issues.
- Develop reports on access rights status and maintain relationships with hospital contacts.
- Implement automation to streamline EMR access processes.
- Coordinate with various departments to align access needs.
- Travel to remote offices as needed to address specific EMR needs.
- Provide emergency and after-hours support for EMR access issues.
- Participate in privacy programs, business continuity plans, and quality improvement projects.
- Create educational materials and FAQs for end users.
- Stay informed on industry regulations and participate in audit events as required.
Qualifications:
- Generalist knowledge in IT areas such as networking, desktop support, and security.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- In-depth experience with Microsoft Active Directory and application support for Microsoft products and cloud-based applications like Office 365.
- Degree in IT or administration preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on IT experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, preferably in healthcare.
- Certifications like MCSA, A+, Network+, and Security+ are desirable.
