South Dakota State University’s Jackrabbit central is looking for a Customer Service Supervisor who will lead a team of customer service associates and the overall performance of our three (3) Jackrabbit Central store locations.

Job Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Director, the Customer Service Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout all three of Jackrabbit Central stores. This position will be responsible for the timely and efficient staffing and operations of all three stores. As the leader of the customer service team, the Customer Service Supervisor will assist in the training of customer service associates. This individual will focus on improving the overall customer service experience through interactions with customers on the selling floor and share in the responsibility for the overall performance of each store.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• Retail financial experience with profit and inventory management
• Computer software and systems (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Point of Sale systems)
• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Supervision techniques
• Customer service practices

Skill & Ability to:

• Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers, and all levels of management.
• Ability to resolve complaints and problems as they arise.
• Ability to train, coach and develop a staff of student associates.
• Ability to delegate and follow through on projects in a timely manner.
• Ability to lead group discussions and public speaking.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role in a retail environment with supervisor skills
• Desire to take an active role in one’s development Experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system.
