POSITION SUMMARY :
The Construction Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and overseeing safety programs on construction sites to ensure compliance with regulations, prevent accidents, and promote a culture of safety among workers. This role involves conducting risk assessments, developing safety policies, and providing training to construction personnel.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification:
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and assess risks associated with construction activities.
- Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to address and mitigate identified risks.
- Safety Program Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs tailored to specific construction projects.
- Ensure that safety protocols align with industry regulations and company policies.
- Training and Education:
- Conduct safety orientations for new hires, emphasizing company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide ongoing training to construction personnel on safety best practices, equipment usage, and emergency response procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of local, state, and federal safety regulations relevant to the construction industry.
- Ensure that construction sites comply with all applicable safety standards and regulations.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety-related incidents to determine root causes.
- Document incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Emergency Response Planning:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for construction sites.
- Conduct drills and ensure that all personnel are familiar with emergency procedures.
- Safety Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify and rectify potential issues.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and internal teams to ensure compliance.
CERTIFICATIONS: - OSHA 30 – OSHA 500
- CSP Certified Safety Professional
- CHST Construction Health and Safety Technician
- First Aid/CPR/AED
QUALIFICATIONS: - Previous experience in construction safety or a related field is required. The number of years of experience may vary depending on the position and company.
- Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations, especially those specific to the construction industry.
- Knowledge of safety practices, risk assessment, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures.
- Analytical skills to conduct thorough risk assessments, analyze incident data, and provide recommendations.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Effective verbal and written communication and training skills to effectively convey safety information to construction personnel, management, and regulatory authorities.
- Work collaboratively with construction workers, project managers, and other stakeholders to promote an environment and culture of safety
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are required. Ability to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Able to investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns. Implement correction actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Computer skills: proficiency in using relevant software for safety documentation and reporting.
- Physical Fitness: Construction Safety Officers may need to navigate construction sites, climb ladders, and perform physical inspections; reasonable level of physical fitness is often required.
SUPPLEMENTAL: - Place of Employment is located in Aurora, CO at a newly constructed, climate-controller, warehouse/building with amenities. BYLD offers a flexible work environment that combines remote and in-office work (predominantly). This position requires the Assistant Project Manager to make themselves available at any given time as requested by Senior Management.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE: - Annual Salary (commensurate with experience): $85,000 - $105,000
