Evans is a growing company that is investing for its future. We are headquartered in Western New York and have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager at our corporate headquarters. The primary role of the Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager is to provide high level support to the Relationship Managers and Commercial Lending team on select credits. Duties include proactively managing a portfolio by answering customer calls, annual review of credits, documentation preparation, loan closings and history sheets. The incumbent will work with the Commercial Banking team and credit department to structure and prepare loans for approval on assigned loans. This individual is responsible for continuous follow-up and customer contact to secure appropriate documentation in the absence of the lending officer. The incumbent will manage their own portfolio of customers and may work to attempt to grow portfolio as well as cross sell other products including loan products, bank services, insurance services and investment services.

What We Ask Of You:

• Ensure proper administrative support is provided to Relationship Managers and others within the Commercial Lending team, showcasing self-starter attitude to secure appropriate documentation, information such as financial statements, testing portfolio for covenants and recognizing possible problems
• Collaborate with the credit department to develop recommendations of loan structure on assigned accounts
• Interact with commercial lending officers by coordinating and preparing loan presentations and providing required support in servicing activities
• Closely communicate and escalate as needed all critical issue items, establish acceptable actions plan to address identified concerns
• Facilitate initial credit analysis, including cash flow and collateral tests, to determine whether a loan is feasible, making recommendations based on results
• Provide high level of customer service to customer base in absence of loan officer
• Ensure proper handling of team’s maturing loans
• Adhere to established regulatory requirements

Experience & Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Proven experience in commercial lending
• Previous experience with a lending institution in commercial credit and financial analysis
• Strong credit analysis experience required
• Ability to read and understand financial statements as well as tax returns
• Sound oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills specific to commercial credit underwriting

This position is anticipated to pay a base rate between $57,560/annually and $84,421/annually. This rate does not include potential incentive pay and benefits paid for by the company which may be in addition to the base rate of pay. The base rate of pay is determined by factors such as required experience, skill set needed, business impact of position, value of budget oversight and people management, among other factors. Your Talent Acquisition Specialist will be able to answer specific questions you may have regarding the base pay range for this position.
