Responsibilities:
  • Perform hands-on forensic investigations, condition assessments, and construction administration, which may include documenting distress, performance evaluation, and field testing, collecting data and samples, and troubleshooting details
  • Analyze field data and research modern and historic construction documents, governing codes, and design guidelines to facilitate analysis, problem-solving, and repair design
  • Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final client deliverables, including written reports, calculation packets, construction documents, repair design details (developed by hand and in CAD), and project specifications
  • Assume responsibility for key aspects of projects and complete assignments with limited oversight, under the guidance of licensed professionals
  • Interface with project teams, clients, contractors, and other architectural and engineering disciplines
  • Contribute to company-wide objectives through involvement in office and company development initiatives, in-house Technical Resource Groups (TRGs) and research projects, and relevant industry committees and professional organizations
Qualifications / Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in architecture, architectural engineering, building science, historic preservation, or a related field
  • Two to five years of relevant industry experience , with a demonstrated interest in the design, construction, investigation, and/or repair of various building envelope systems; principles of heat, air, and moisture control within enclosure materials and assemblies; evaluation of building performance; and/or preservation and rehabilitation of historic structures
  • Demonstrated progress towards attaining relevant licensure/certifications appropriate for experience level; licensure as a Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of New York a plus
  • Effective technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Team player mindset with a willingness to proactively take on various roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands, while maintaining productive interpersonal relationships and a high standard of excellence, integrity, and attention to detail
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of occupationally hazardous locations, including outdoors with exposure to temperature extremes
  • Ability to safely use and/or operate ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and other access equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, and other heavy equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Medically fit to utilize respiratory protection devices and other forms of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Ability to drive and safely operate a motor vehicle

Annual starting base salary (gross): $80,600 to $109,900. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on several factors including consideration for a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base salary is one component of our total compensation package for employees.
