Associate Designer

Associate Designer (Custom Implants)

Overview

We are seeking Associate Designers to join a specialized team focused on creating custom patient-specific implants for orthognathic surgeries (e.g., correcting overbites or underbites). This position offers a unique opportunity to combine creativity with precision engineering to design products that directly impact patient outcomes.

Candidates should have experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks or other comparable programs.

This role is a permanent, on-site position in Jacksonville, FL.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and apply knowledge of custom implant design processes.
• Collaborate with Engineers who provide surgical plans to create detailed implant designs.
• Utilize CAD software and haptic feedback tools to design implants that meet technical, regulatory, and internal guidelines.
• Maintain accurate patient-specific case files and documentation.
• Ensure implant designs are clear, accurate, and meet manufacturing requirements.
• Participate in testing designs to validate product performance, reliability, and usability.

Experience:

• Proficiency with 3D modeling or CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, or similar).
• Experience designing physical products (e.g., jewelry, furniture, medical devices) gained through professional work, education, or hobbies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Other Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical and regulatory guidelines.
• Willingness to learn new software and design processes.
• Ability to work independently on detailed designs with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience Requirements

• AS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Bioengineering, Biomedical) or comparable degree/certification in a technical/medical field
• Prior experience with 3D modeling software
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications
