Overview The Ambulatory Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care for patients including assessment, treatment, care planning and medical care evaluation by following standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Qualifications **LicenseCertifications:** Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA) **Education:** H.S. DiplomaGED **Other KnowledgeSkills:** Responsibilities Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice. Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate. Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes. Assists nursing leadership in the development of departmental standing orders. Shows initiative and dependability including punctuality and attendance. Fosters a culture of outstanding patient service showing courtesy in interactions with patients, physicians, and co-workers. Seeks new learning experiences by accepting challenging opportunities and responsibilities. Follows appropriate dress code presenting a professional image. Expected to be a positive and responsible team member with a good attitude. Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides phone triage, and returns patient phone calls withing one business day. Assist in minor procedures that may put RN in contact with blood borne pathogens. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response. Assists during clinic by providing patient education, submitting therapyMRI orders, work notes, medications, etc. Brings patient care issues to physician’s attention. Manages physicians schedule for clinic and surgery. Obtains and documents health history, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses condition. Monitors acute and chronic care management.
