Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Baltimore, MD.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Product Qualification Environmental Test Laboratory within the Mission Systems Manufacturing Integration & Systems organization.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2025.

  • Majoring in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2025.

  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

  • The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, thermal cooling systems, data acquisition, rotating equipment and vibration analysis.

Pay Range:

Bachelors: $19.50 to $35.75 per hour

Masters: $28.00 to $44.00 per hour

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
